Pheasant Heaven Charities
At Pheasant Heaven Charities, our goal is simple. We assist individuals with catastrophic medical needs and benefit other organizations throughout our region. We also help further education by awarding dozens of scholarships every year to residents throughout Southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma Panhandle. Formed in 2004 and based in Hugoton, Kansas, PHCI has raised over $6,500,000 thanks to continued support from the communities we serve and our Pheasant Heaven Partners.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee began in 2004. It provides scholarships to high school seniors preparing to further their education. Additionally, for college students who have previously received a PHCI Scholarship, there is an opportunity to receive more funds.
College Scholarship
Students applying for this college scholarship must be seniors at an area high school within fifty miles of Hugoton Kansas with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 as reflected by his or her certified high school transcript.
Scholarship funds will be awarded upon successful completion of the student’s first semester of college, with a minimum of 12 semester hours completed. Verification of this information (an official transcript for first semester) and a copy of the 2nd semester schedule will be required.
The scholarship may be used for educational expenses (books, tuition, and/or housing) in attending any university, college or junior college, excluding vocational/trade schools. Recipients must take courses at the location of the post-secondary institution of their choice.
REAPPLYING FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP
If you receive this scholarship as a graduating high school senior, you may reapply for another scholarship after your first year of college for a maximum of four (4) scholarships. If you are not selected as a renewal winner, you may apply again the next year as long as you have remained in college. You will be given a renewal application when you receive your check at midterm.
Recipients of scholarships are chosen by the scholarship committee, which is appointed by Pheasant Heaven Charities, Inc. Board of Directors. Items considered are citizenship, character, and the ability to benefit from continued education. This scholarship is awarded on the information reflected with the application.CONTINUING SCHOLARSHIP
To be eligible to reapply for this PHCI scholarship, you must have been awarded this scholarship after having been selected as a winner (or an alternate) your senior year of high school. You must have successfully completed your first year of higher education. The scholarship may be used for educational expenses (books, tuition, and/or housing) in attending any university, college, junior college or vocational school. Recipients must take courses at the location of the post-secondary institution of their choice.
REAPPLYING FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP
If you receive this scholarship as a graduating high school senior, you may reapply for another scholarship after your successful completion of the school year. Even if you are not chosen every year in succession, you will still be eligible to reapply. You may receive this scholarship a total of four (4) years. You will be given a renewal application when you receive your check at midterm.
Scholarship deadline is February 10th.

This year the committee granted twenty $1,000 Scholarships to twenty graduating seniors in the area. Congratulations to the following students!
Process
1. Register
Click on the "Register" link and complete and submit the registration form.
2. Login
Click on the Log In button and enter your email and password to access the scholarship application site.
3. Create
Create your online application.
4. Save
During the Call for Applications period, your application can be saved as DRAFT until all the required information is completed and attachments uploaded. As each section is complete, you will see a 
appear in the category tab when the application is saved. At any time, you can download and print your application by clicking on the 
icon in the Application Summary section.
5. Submit
On completion, save your Nomination as FINAL. Download and print a copy of your application for your records by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section in the right column. Note: If an update is required prior to the Call for Applications period, you can make the update and resave as FINAL.
